Central Alberta Economic Partnership (CAEP), a membership-based organization that fosters success
to advance central Alberta’s regional competitive advantage, announces the appointment of a new
Executive Director. James Carpenter, Chair of the Board of Directors is delighted to introduce
Tracy Gardner as the newly appointed Executive Director of CAEP effective May 1, 2023.
“We are thrilled to have Tracy join CAEP as our Executive Director. She will work alongside the
Board of Directors and our members to continue to build the relevance and profile of CAEP within
our region,” says James Carpenter, CAEP Board Chair.
Tracy joins CAEP with over fifteen years’ experience empowering staff and engaging volunteers to
satisfy and exceed corporate and community goals and objectives to create opportunity and
contribute favorably to the community.
“I am ready for a new opportunity that fully integrates my diverse and authentic skill set with an
economic development organization that enthusiastically embraces a regional economic growth
strategy,” says Gardner.
James adds, “Tracy is a passionate community leader that elevates partner collaboration, membership

partners and stakeholders while positioning CAEP for strategic success.”
CAEP has the following initiatives: Regional Business Retention and Support, Business and
Investment Attraction, Rural and Indigenous Broadband Connectivity, Transportation and Logistics,
Regional Land Database, Municipal Investment Attraction Readiness Program, Economic Development
Member Training.
The CAEP Board of Director is excited to see how Tracy will move this organization forward and to
experience the growth potential through these initiatives.
